Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Petal & Parcel handles your personal information when you visit petalandparcel.com.au, place an order, or get in touch with us. It also explains the choices you have and how to reach us about your information.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. When we say "we" or "us" we mean Petal & Parcel, [ABN 77 505 234 242].

When you send a gift
Petal & Parcel is a gift business, so most orders involve someone other than you. When you order a gift, you give us the recipient's name, delivery address, and sometimes a message to include in the parcel.
We use that information only to fulfil and deliver the order you placed. We do not add gift recipients to our marketing lists, and we do not contact them for any reason other than completing the delivery. If you give us someone else's details, we rely on you being entitled to share them with us for that purpose.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- process your order and arrange delivery to the recipient
- send you order confirmations, dispatch notices, and tracking updates
- respond to your enquiries and provide customer support
- send marketing emails about new products and offers, where you have opted in
- run and improve the website and our service
- meet our legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations
You can opt out of marketing at any time. We will still send you the operational messages tied to an order, such as a confirmation or a delivery update, because those are part of providing the service you have paid for.
When we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. It goes only to the providers we need to run the business, and only as far as each one needs it to do its job:
- Shopify, which hosts our online store and processes orders on our behalf.
- Payment providers such as Shopify Payments and PayPal, which process your payment securely.
- Postal and courier services, which carry the parcel from our studio to the recipient.
- Email and analytics tools, which help us send the messages you have opted into and understand how the site is used.
- Professional advisers and authorities, where we are required to share information by law.
Storing information overseas
Some of our providers, such as Shopify and certain payment and analytics services, store and process information outside Australia, including in Canada and the United States. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies and tracking
Like most online stores, our site uses cookies and similar technologies. These keep your cart working and your preferences saved. They also help us measure how the site performs. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. Orders and payments run through Shopify's secure, encrypted infrastructure, and access to customer information within our business is limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute protection.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide the service and meet our legal and tax obligations. When we no longer need it, we securely delete or de-identify it.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Contact us using the details below and we will respond promptly. There is no charge to make a request, though in some cases we may need to verify who you are before we act on it.
Making a complaint
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, contact us first using the details below and we will work with you to sort it out. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our business or the law changes. The current version is always the one published on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last updated.
